Handling and Storage Instructions and Recommendations for Plastinated Specimens
HANDLING
- Always handle the organs with care and respect.
- In general, plastinated specimens can be handled directly without additional protective equipment.
- Do not force, compress or overstretch anatomical structures during use.
- Take extra care with fragile specimens such as brains, foetuses with placenta, lungs, bronchial trees, hollow organs and dissections displaying nerves, arteries, and veins.
- Limbs must always remain correctly positioned on their pedestals. Avoid tilting the specimen to prevent it from toppling over.
STORAGE
- After use, store specimens carefully to preserve their original morphology.
- Never stack specimens, especially hollow organs such as stomachs or horse colons.
- In prosected specimens, avoid compressing anatomical structures to maintain their integrity.
- Store all remaining specimens on shelves or in their provided suitcases.
- During storage, protect specimens from moisture and direct sunlight.
- In case of skin irritation or allergic reaction, seek medical advice promptly.
Discover-IN is not liable for any deterioration of specimens or harm to users caused by inappropriate use or handling of the specimens.
